How Underwater Fish Lights Work
Green underwater LEDs light the water column beneath a dock, and the rest follows the food chain.
Underwater dock lights are sealed LED fixtures that hang below the waterline and run off a transformer or 12V supply on the dock. Green light travels further through water than most of the visible spectrum, so a green fixture lights a wider column for the same power draw.
Systems are sold by head count. A single head suits a small private dock; double, triple and quad systems cover longer docks and deeper water. Cord length is chosen per head so the fixture can be placed where it is actually useful rather than where the wiring happens to end.
Most complete systems include a photocell so the lights come on at dusk and switch off at dawn without anyone thinking about it. A timer and photocell combo lets you cut the hours back if you only want the lights on for the evening.
Ask Reel Clean for the configuration that matches your dock length, water depth and power supply.
